Did you break up the fight with the par/ren option, or did you have to choose to side with only one of them during the fight? Who died, and at what part of the suicide mission?
My Paragon bar was almost full and both options were still grayed out so I ended up siding with Miranda and I lost Jock's loyalty... I'm about to do the Reaper IFF
Yeah, you have to have either full paragon or a pretty high renegade to talk them both down. You might be able to go reason with Jack, but I'm not sure how high your par/ren have to be for that; I've always sided with her when I had no chance of breaking it up. They can both still live, though, so long as you're careful where you put them. If Jack's not loyal, for instance, don't use her as your biotic on the long walk.
I still think it would've been interesting to have a Batarian squad mate.
